Thanks to the urging of Gail Orth-Aikmus of Heartland Weim Rescue, Karen Sandvold will soon present us with a third edition of the fabulous Weimaraner Cookbook. Proceeds from the first two editions went to Weimaraner Club of America Rescue but the third, a 300+ page version will send profits to Heartland Weim Rescue. For those (of us) who missed the first two editions a reprint will also be available. Sales will be handled by Weim Rescue of Texas and profits will go to them. Each book contains a list of contributors (recipes are from all over the world), lots of wild game recipes and dishes, and a large section of different doggie treats. Another chapter on household tips makes it a unique cookbook. The first two editions made several thousand dollars for WCA headed by Becky Weimer, with each volume being reprinted twice. Volumes 2 & 3 include pictures and stories of dozens of rescued dogs. Karen claims this will be her last cookbook but she hopes that soon someone else will pick up the ball and run with it since the project has been relatively successful. The 3rd version will be finished by August 30 and ready to mail out no later than September 15.
